Racecourse Workshop

Starting off with one week's research at Sandown Racecourse. We spent our time photo documenting points of interest and then let it sit for a week. Week two we had a discussion about our experience and how to interpret the day which we agreed was a foreign experience for all of us. Week 3 we focused more on the layering of structures and processes that were prominent in the establishment and we agreed to combine notions of the industrial with electronic materials in our final sculpture.

Painting workshop

Started with a discussion about a painting quote by Kant which compared painting to room decoration. We decided to build a room in a painterly sense, creating light, darkness and spacial tension. Video documentation of experience of interior was filmed. Experimenting with dynamics of two dimensional and three dimensional space.

Light Workshop

We began with trying to build a makeshift projector and experimentation with slides. Progressed towards video documentation of the process, which was then edited into a short film.
